In local response, the Galveston Economic Development Partnership is continuing with its' work of the Hurricane Recovery Task Force. This Task Force was created following Hurricane Katrina in an attempt to become better educated and prepared for catastrophic events. Our work has proven that better planning in anticipation of an event results in mitigated financial loss and hardship.
